Peter Krumme

Peter Krumme (* 1942 in Wuppertal ; † 2009 in Berlin ) was a German author , dramaturge and literary translator .

Krumme studied general and comparative literature at the Universities of Göttingen , Heidelberg , Frankfurt am Main and at the Free University in Berlin. Until 1978 he was an assistant, then a lecturer at the Free University of Berlin.

In addition to his work at the university and as a translator, he worked as a dramaturge at the Berlin Schaubühne for Luc Bondy , Klaus Michael Grüber , Peter Stein and Robert Wilson, among others . His translations of Greek classics, which contemporary directors like to choose for performances on the German-speaking stage, are available for professional and school performances from the Frankfurt publishing house of the authors .
