Peter Kunzmann (born September 24, 1965 in Schmalkalden ) is a former German football player who played two first division games for FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football, in August 1986 . He was a selection player in the youth teams of the DFV .
Athletic career
In 1972 Peter Kunzmann joined the FC Carl Zeiss Jena children's team. When the GDR Football Association launched the junior league in 1983 , Kunzmann, who had previously played three international matches with the U-16 national team , was part of the FC Carl Zeiss squad. In the 1983/84 season he was a midfielder and most recently as a center forward regular player and successful goalscorer. He was also part of the junior national team that season . With her he completed six international matches until 1984, but was only in the game Denmark - GDR 0-1 on May 2, 1984 as a midfielder in the starting line-up. At the U-18 EM in 1984 he was used once for the DFV-Elf.
From the summer of 1984 Peter Kunzmann played in the men's division at FC Carl Zeiss. There he was first used in the 2nd team in the GDR league . In the 1984/85 season he was a substitute player there with only seven appearances and was only in the starting line-up twice. It was not until 1985/86 that he was able to prevail as a right winger with 31 of 34 point games. In 1986/87 Kunzmann played his only two league games. However, there were only brief appearances, one minute on the 1st league matchday and two minutes on the 2nd matchday. In the 2nd team he played 14 league games. Also for the season 1987/88 Kunzmann was planned for the 2nd team of the FCC, but was only used in four GDR league games in the first half of the season.
For the second half of 1988 Peter Kunzmann moved to the GDR league club BSG Wismut Gera . There he was immediately a regular player and was usually used as a right winger. Until the end of the 1990/91 season Kunzmann played with Wismut Gera in the second division. In the period from 1988 to 1991 he played 95 of the 115 league games played, in which he scored 22 goals.
He remained loyal to the team from the Stadium of Friendship , later renamed FSV Wismut and 1. SV Gera, at least until relegation from the fourth-class league in spring 1996. In the years immediately after the reunification of the now all-German league system , Gera belonged to the southern season of the third-class NOFV amateur league until 1994 .
