Peter Lang (pianist)
Peter Lang (born July 20, 1946 in Lambach ) is an Austrian pianist .
Life
From 1951 to 1969, Lang studied music with his father Hermann Lang, Kurt Neumüller, Friedrich Gulda , Géza Anda , Bernhard Paumgartner , Eberhard Preussner , Kurt Overhoff and Gerhard Wimberger . From 1955 he began an international concert career and from 1965 appeared at the Salzburg Festival .
In 1978 Lang became full professor of piano at the Mozarteum , from 1972 to 2002 he was head of the keyboard instruments department and from 1988 to 1991 he was head of the Mozarteum International Summer Academy , where he lectured among others with Luciano Berio, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Grace Bumbry and Gidon Kremer tape. Since 2003 he has devoted himself increasingly to his artistic work.
