Peter Lerch

Peter Lerch (born July 1, 1954 in Offenbach an der Queich ) is a German administrative officer, politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate since July 15, 2019 .

Life

After completing secondary school, Peter Lerch completed an apprenticeship as a graduate in administration from 1971 to 1976 . From 1978 to 1980, a social pedagogical specialist training followed.

As an administrative officer, Lerch initially worked for the district government of Rheinhessen-Pfalz and subsequently in various functions as a consultant in the district of Südliche Weinstrasse and as managing director in the tourism promotion department of the Südliche Weinstrasse e. V. active. From 1996 until his retirement in 2019, he headed the youth, family and sports department of the district for 23 years.

Lerch is married and has two children.

politics

Lerch has been a CDU member since 1984. Since 1986 he has held various party offices, most recently from 2007 to 2010 he was chairman of the CDU district association in Landau.

Lerch has been a member of Landau's city council since 2009, in 2012 he became deputy parliamentary group chairman, and in 2013 he became chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

Lerch is a member of the Upper Rhine Council and, since September 2019, of the State Youth Welfare Committee of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Peter Lerch became a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament on July 15, 2019 . He replaced Christine Schneider in the state parliament, who in turn had taken on the mandate she had won in the European Parliament.
