Christine Schneider (born June 5, 1972 in Landau in der Pfalz ) is a Rhineland-Palatinate politician ( CDU ). She was elected to the 9th European Parliament on May 26, 2019.

In 1989 Schneider became a member of the Junge Union Südliche Weinstrasse and in 1990 a member of the CDU. She represented this from 1994 to 2019 in the city ​​council of Edenkoben . From 1996 to 2019 Schneider was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament , the focus of her political work is on the fields of agriculture, viticulture, environmental and forest policy.

From 2001 to 2006 she was the agricultural policy spokeswoman for the CDU state parliamentary group and from 2006 to 2011 she was chairwoman of the committee for agriculture and viticulture of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate. From 2011 to 2016 she was chair of the Committee on Environment, Agriculture, Food, Viticulture and Forests. From 2016 to 2019 she was a member of the Committee for Agriculture and Viticulture as well as the Committee for Environment, Energy, Food and Forestry of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament. From 2016 to 2019 she was also deputy chairman of the CDU state parliamentary group in Rhineland-Palatinate.

From 1997 to 2006 she was a state board member of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate. Since 1999 she has been a member of the Southern Wine Route District Council . From 2000 to 2010 and since November 2013 she has been the deputy district chairwoman of the CDU Südliche Weinstrasse. From 2014 to 2019 Schneider was a member of the Palatinate District Assembly. Since 2014 she has been a member of the Federal Committee on Agriculture and Rural Areas of the CDU in Germany.

On May 26, 2019, Christine Schneider was elected to the European Parliament as the top candidate of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate in the 2019 European elections. Schneider is a member of the Group of the European People's Party (EPP Group). In October 2019 she was elected to the parliamentary group executive committee in supplementary elections.

Schneider is a full member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) and the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM). She is also an alternate member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI).

She is also a member of the delegation for relations with South Africa.
