Peter Lonard (born July 17, 1967 in Sydney ) is an Australian professional golfer on the PGA Tour .

Inspired by the Australian golf legend Greg Norman , he became a professional golfer in 1989 . He began his career on the PGA Tour of Australasia and played on the European Tour in 1991 and 1992 with moderate success . Then Lonard contracted Ross River fever for a year and a half , which affected his eyesight, and he worked as a club professional for three years. In the 1996/97 season he returned to the PGA Tour of Australasia and won the money list. Then he turned back to the European Tour, where Lonard could not achieve a tournament victory, but came up with good results and an 18th place in the 2002 money list. That same year, Lonard also began playing on the US PGA TOUR and posted revenues of over $ 1 million in its first season. From then on he was a regular participant of this tournament series and in 2005 he achieved his first victory at the MCI Heritage .

Peter Lonard was a member of the international team at the Presidents Cup in 2003 and 2005 and played with Mark Hensby for Australia in the 2005 WGC World Cup . In the golf world rankings he was mostly in the top 100.
