Peter John MacGregor-Scott , also Peter Macgregor-Scott (born December 28, 1947 in Maidenhead , Berkshire , England , † October 25, 2017 in New York City ) was a British-American film producer .

Live and act

The son of film studio manager JC MacGregor-Scott began his career in the mid-1960s as an assistant director in Hong Kong . In 1970 he came to the USA, where he has since worked as a unit manager (for example in 1971 for the heist movie Day of the Wolves , one of his first US films) and assistant director. In 1976 he began his production activities, on May 5, 1978 Peter MacGregor-Scott was naturalized.

MacGregor-Scott's early productions are mostly B-movies , including several stoner comedies by the duo Cheech and Chong . He quickly specialized in action films, including several films with Steven Seagal . MacGregor-Scott has been involved in the production of A-films since the 1990s, mostly in collaboration with other producers. After a series of critical and box office flops ( Batman & Robin , Kill Smoochy , Every Second Counts - The Guardian ), MacGregor-Scott gradually withdrew from feature film production at the beginning of the new millennium.

His brother Ian MacGregor-Scott (* 1949) works as a sound editor for films.
