Even more smoke about nothing (Original title: Cheech and Chong's Next Movie ) is an American comedy film by the comedy duo Cheech and Chong from 1980.
action
While Cheech is doing his work at a film studio , Chong is at home and annoying the neighbors with all kinds of noise. When Cheech is released, the two go to his girlfriend Donna, who works at the social welfare office . The appearance of Cheech and Chong upset Donna's supervisor, who has them thrown out. Cheech later receives a call from Donna. With the prospect of a rendezvous , he tries to complement Chong out of the house and begins to prepare the apartment. He is interrupted by another call; this time it is his extended relative Red who asks for help. At Chong's request, Cheech makes his way to Red, who is staying at a local hotel. Once there, Chong finds him arguing with the hotel receptionist because Red cannot pay his bill. Since the hotel is holding Red's suitcase as a deposit, Chong and Red break into the storeroom and disappear without paying.
The two now make a detour to a brothel . When their behavior attracts negative attention, they are thrown out of there. However, one of the girls joins them, and together they set off to Sunset Boulevard in their parents' "borrowed" car . In a comedy club there, Chong and Red spontaneously give a stand-up appearance . When the hotel receptionist shows up, there is a commotion in which the doorman intervenes. They flee and drive out into the country where Red grows cannabis . There they are kidnapped by a UFO along with the drugs .
Since he had spent so much time cleaning up yesterday, Cheech slept most of his lap with Donna. He is woken up the next morning by a strangely dressed Chong who has brought him "space drugs" from space. Cheech runs amok in a drug frenzy and destroys the neighboring house, whereupon both of them fly into space.
synchronization
In contrast to the previous film, both main characters were dubbed by different speakers. Heinz Freitag took over for Christian Brückner and Michael Nowka for Manfred Lehmann .

criticism
"Without a coherent plot, without staging skills and completely absurd gags that mainly aim below the belt."
