Cheech Marin
Cheech Marin (* 13. July 1946 as Richard Anthony Marin in Los Angeles , California ) is an American comedian and actor of Mexican origin.
Life
Marin became known along with Tommy Chong as a member of the comedian duo Cheech and Chong . In 1978, Much Smoke for Nothing ( Up'n Smoke ) came out, their first full-length feature film, which shows the two of them as bon vivants and stoners. After several films that span the adventures of the two characters, the duo split and Marin continued his career alone. In 2010, Marin and Chong announced a sequel to Up in Smoke in which they are back in front of the camera together.
In addition to a variety of film roles (including a triple role in Robert Rodriguez ' From Dusk Till Dawn ), he played in the television series Nash Bridges (1996-2001) on the side of Don Johnson a police officer in San Francisco . He also played landscape architect Ignacio Messina at Tyne Daly's side in the series For All Cases Amy .
He also lent his voice to characters in cartoons such as The Lion King and The Great Crawling . In the German television Cheech Marin was u. a. Chuy Castillos was seen as a hotel employee in Golden Palace (1992–1993), the follow-up series to Golden Girls .
Cheech Marin is also politically active: As a self-confessed cannabis consumer , he has been campaigning for the legalization of cannabis in the USA with public appearances and in social networks on the Internet for decades .
