Scott Conrad

Scott "SC" Conrad (* around 1944 ) is an American film editor who, in addition to the Oscar for best editing, also won two Eddie awards, the American Cinema Editors' (ACE) award .

Life

Conrad began in 1964 as a student assistant in the mail room of the film production company 20th Century Fox before he worked in the company's advertising department, where he also met well-known film directors such as Franklin J. Schaffner , Vincente Minnelli and Robert Wise . Encouraged by this, he began his career as an assistant editor. In 1966 he studied at the Cinema School of the University of Southern California (USC). His professors included Bernie Kantor and Herb Farmer, while his fellow students included John Milius and George Lucas .

His first work as an editor in 1970, a documentary film about the making of the film Two bandits from Roy Hill entitled The Making of 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid " . To date, he has worked on the editing of almost seventy films.

At the 1977 Academy Awards , he and Richard Halsey won the Oscar for Best Editing for Rocky (1976) by John G. Avildsen with Sylvester Stallone , Talia Shire and Burt Young in the lead roles . At the same time they both won an Eddie, the American Cinema Editors (ACE) award for the best cut in a motion picture.

He got another Eddie for Best Editing in a TV Movie in 1984, for Heart of Steel (1983) by Donald Wyre with Peter Strauss , Pamela Reed and John Doucette .
