Peter Martin (born December 21, 1968 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Peter Martin came to the Oberliga Westfalen for VfR Sölde through the clubs TSC Eintracht Dortmund , Borussia Dortmund (youth) and Hombrucher FV 09 . There he was a regular goalkeeper for several years before the second division club SG Wattenscheid 09 signed him . With Wattenscheid he was relegated twice to the Regionalliga West / Südwest . In 1996 the direct resurgence succeeded, 1999/2000 not. In 1999, Christoph Jacob, who was almost ten years younger than him, ousted Martin as a regular goalkeeper. In 2000 he moved to SC Fortuna Köln , which was relegated to the Regionalliga Nord . In fourth place, Fortuna narrowly missed promotion, but then the team fell apart, Peter Martin also left the club and switched to league rivals KFC Uerdingen . His successor in goal at Fortuna was today's Bundesliga keeper Tim Wiese . After two years at KFC Uerdingen, Peter Martin once again became second league warden (2003/04) when he moved to SSV Jahn Regensburg . In 2004/05 he guarded the goal at 1. SC Feucht in the Regionalliga and has been with the Bavarian TSV 1860 Rosenheim since then, after a brief return to KFC Uerdingen 05 . With Rosenheim he was promoted to the Bavarian League in 2009 and was still in goal there at the age of 41.

In 2010 Martin became goalkeeping coach at 1860 Rosenheim. From August 2010, however, the district league club SV Nussdorf used the services of the veteran again, as the regular goalkeeper had suffered a triple cheekbone fracture. Among other things, Martin played against his actual club Rosenheim (second team), where he also continued to act as goalkeeping coach. In the same season he also helped out again as a goalkeeper for the Bayernliga team from 1860 Rosenheim.
