The Litfin case

Litfin was committed to clear regulations for professorial secondary employment and attendance obligations for professorial colleagues in teaching. In 2001, several university professors were sentenced by the state to repay considerable income from public service secondary employment. This was the trigger for a bizarre guerrilla war in which Litfin came under fire from the existing clergy of officials and professors. After Litfin had described the department and its professors as "professionally a desert and humanly hell" as well as a "corrupt pig pile", disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him, whereupon he sued the university. Ultimately, Litfin was released for the time being, sent to a research semester after his appointment and finally retired in 2002 .
