Peter Marxer (lawyer)

Peter Marxer (born March 11, 1933 in Vaduz ; † May 30, 2016 there ) was a Liechtenstein lawyer and politician.

biography

Peter Marxer was born in 1933 as the son of Ludwig Marxer and his wife Franziska, the daughter of the Austrian politician and lawyer Josef Peer , and grew up with two sisters. He studied from 1953 to 1957 at the University of Innsbruck and received his doctorate there in 1957 to Dr. iur. He then completed a legal internship in Feldkirch and Vaduz in 1958 . In 1959 he was admitted to the bar in Liechtenstein. Marxer now worked in the law firm Marxer & Partner , founded by his father in 1925 . After the death of his father, he took over the law firm in 1962.

From 1966 to 1982 he was a member of the State Parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein for the Progressive Citizens' Party (FBP), and from 1967 to 1982 he was parliamentary group leader of the FBP. From 1970 to 1982 he was party president of the FBP. From 1964 Marxer was partner and president of the board of directors of Confida Treuhand- und Revisions-AG in Vaduz. From 1993 he was a partner in Centrum Bank AG . Furthermore, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Centrum Bank AG from 1993 to 2011 and was Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors of Centrum Bank AG from 2011.

In 1991, Marxer was awarded the title of “Princely Council of Justice”. His sons Peter Marxer jun. and Florian Marxer also work as lawyers.
