Peter Nansen

Peter Nansen (born January 20, 1861 in Copenhagen , † July 31, 1918 in Mariager ) was a Danish journalist and writer .

In addition to social science university studies, Nansen carried out an important journalistic activity in the slightly satirical, urbane elegant style of Herman Bang , whose piquant properties also give his larger works their character. Among other things, he wrote erotic novels for marriage and women as well as short stories . What is remarkable in these books, which are mostly also translated into German, is the frivolous simplicity of the presentation and the good characteristics of the blasé Copenhagen fashion heroes. From 1896 to 1916 Nansen was the publishing manager at the Danish book publisher Gyldendal . He also emerged as a playwright. A complete edition of his writings appeared from 1908 to 1909 under the title Samlede skrifter in three volumes (3rd edition 1920).
