Peter Neumann (racing driver)

Peter Neumann (born March 26, 1948 in Darmstadt ) is a former German motorcyclist .

As a motorcycle off-road athlete, he won the international six-day race with the FRG national team in 1975 and 1976 . Neumann was European champion four times in a row and won three titles in the German championship.

Athletic career

Peter Neumann's home is Eschollbrücken , he was born in nearby Darmstadt . Neumann began his motorsport career in 1964 with motorcycle off-road racing. In 1970 and 1971 he was third at the European Championships. One year later he fought his way to the top, defending the continental title in the 50 cm³ class up to and including 1975. In 1972 he was a member of the German trophy team for the first time at the International Six Day Race. With the national team he won the Six Days in 1975 and 1976. Between 1973 and 1975 he was also three times German champion. He fought for all of his successes on Zündapp .

Peter Neumann ended his career with the Six Days in Sweden in 1978 .
