Peter Ostermann

Peter Ostermann (born May 26, 1939 in Qullissat ; † July 19, 2011 ) was a Greenlandic politician ( Atassut ) and police officer .

Peter Ostermann was the son of the commercial administrator Hendrik Ostermann and his wife Zebora Mikiassen († 1944). On November 10, 1962, he married the nurse Olivia Hansen (* 1942), with whom he raised three children.

He attended the Efterskole in Aasiaat and then the secondary school in Nuuk . He worked as a police officer from 1960. Politically, Peter Ostermann was active in the local council of Qaqortoq . He was elected to the first Inatsisartut in 1979. There he stayed for six terms until 1999. On June 4, 1997, he was awarded the Nersornaat in silver. He was married and had three children.
