Lauren Gray (born November 3, 1991 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish curler . She currently plays in the third position on Eve Muirhead's team .

Career

Gray began her international career at the 2009 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival as a runner-up on Skip Anna Sloan's UK team ; their team won the gold medal. In her second participation in the Junior World Curling Championship , she was third in the Scottish team of Hannah Fleming Junior World Champion in 2012 . In 2013 , the team was unable to successfully defend the title because the final was lost to Russia 5-6. At the Winter Universiade 2011 , she won the gold medal with the team skipped by Anna Sloan. At the following Universiade , she came fourth with Hannah Fleming.

In 2013 she took part in the world championship as a substitute in the team of Eve Muirhead and became world champion. In this position she was with the Muirhead team at the European Curling Championships in 2013 and 2014 and won the silver and bronze medals; In 2015 it was only enough for fourth place. She was also a substitute for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and won the bronze medal.

Since 2016, Gray has been the lead in Team Muirhead. After a bronze medal in 2016 , she won the European championship in 2017 and took the bronze medal at the world championship in 2017 .

Gray represented Great Britain at the 2018 Winter Olympics with Eve Muirhead, Anna Sloan (Second) and Vicki Adams (Lead) . With a third place after the Round Robin she moved into the final round, but suffered two defeats there against Sweden (Skip: Anna Hasselborg ) in the semi-finals and against Japan (Skip: Satsuki Fujisawa ) in the game for third place and finally finished fourth .

She plays in Team Muirhead on the World Curling Tour and has won several competitions there.

Private life

Gray studied at the University of Glasgow and graduated in English Literature and Politics in 2013. She is the sister of curler Logan Gray .
