Peter Pagel (* 1952 in Halberstadt , Saxony-Anhalt ) is a German theater actor .

Life

Pagel initially worked for ten years in what was then the German Democratic Republic as a skilled chemical worker before he decided on a career as an actor. He then completed an acting training at the Hans Otto Theater School in Leipzig .

As a theater actor, Pagel played a broad repertoire that included pieces from antiquity , German-speaking authors from the classical period , but especially pieces from modern times and contemporary theater. Pagel was initially filled in the role of the youthful hero and youthful lover, but soon took over the character subject.

In 1982 he received his first permanent engagement at the Rostock Volkstheater . From 1994 to 2001 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Bremen . There he played the title role in Faust (1999, director: Manfred Karge ), in Hexenjagd (1999, director: Konstanze Lauterbach ), the title role in Torquato Tasso (2001, director: Thomas Bischoff ) and the troll Yngve in Armut, Reichtum , Animal and Human by Hans Henny Jahnn (2001, directed by Konstanze Lauterbach).

Pagel appeared in several productions by the director Michael Thalheimer at the Deutsches Theater : as Odoardo Galotti in Emilia Galotti (premiere: September 2001), as Wagner in Faust I and in Faust II (2004/2005) and as doctor Relling in Die Wildente (premiere : February 2008). Other roles at the Deutsches Theater included: Einstein in Die Physiker (premiere: April 2005, with Jutta Wachowiak ; director: András Fricsay ), Pastor Chasuble in Bunbury - Seriously Life (premiere: April 2006; director: Bettina Bruinier ) and the doctor Dorin in Die Möwe (Premiere: December 2008; Director: Jürgen Gosch ).

In the 2009/2010 season he played Count Rupert in the play The Schroiffenstein family by Heinrich von Kleist at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam . Pagel has been a permanent member of the Hans Otto Theater ensemble since the 2010/2011 season. So far he has played the judge Tjapkin in the tragic comedy Der Revisor (premiere: October 2010), the garbage driver Alfred P. Doolittle in the musical My Fair Lady (premiere: January 2011) and Jupiter in Amphitryon (premiere: March 2011). .
