The Emilienstraße is a stop of the Hamburg subway - U2 in the district Eimsbüttel . The station has around 8,400 people entering and leaving the station every day (Mon-Fri, 2017).

history

Emilienstraße is one of the oldest stations on today's U2 line. The station went into operation in 1913 and was then part of the so-called Eimsbüttel branch line. At the end of the 1950s, the previously existing simple access at the east end of the platform was replaced by a new access building a little further to the west.

Expansion and location

The Emilienstraße stop is in a simple, low-lying area under Fruchtallee. The only exit from the 120-meter-long central platform is roughly in the middle and leads to an access building on the northern edge of the Fruchtallee. Emilienstraße is barrier-free.

The station abbreviation of the Hamburger Hochbahn AG for Emilienstraße is "EM". The distance to Osterstraße station is about 600 meters, to Christ Church it is about 750 meters.
