Peter Paul Kirchebner
Peter Paul Kirchebner (born June 29, 1812 in Axams , † September 4, 1846 in Fügen ) was an Austrian painter .
life and work
Peter Paul Kirchebner was born in Axams as the son of the painter Felix Kirchebner and grandson of the painter Josef Anton Kirchebner . Thanks to a grant from the Tyrolean landscape, he studied history painting from 1826 to 1828 with Peter von Cornelius at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and then at the academies in Vienna and Venice . Peter Paul Kirchebner died of pneumonia at the age of 34 and was buried in the cemetery in Fügen.
Kirchebner was one of the few Biedermeier painters in Tyrol. He painted portraits , landscapes and night pieces . In addition, he created templates for prints, such as twelve sheets of Latest Folk Costumes from Tyrol around 1843/1844 , which were lithographed by his brother Anton Alois Kirchebner .
