Peter Reichling

Peter Reichling (born August 2, 1962 in Sonsbeck ) is a professor at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg .

biography

Peter Reichling studied business mathematics at the University of Ulm from 1984 to 1989 and received his doctorate there in 1991 with a thesis on futures transactions. In 1998 he completed his habilitation at Johannes Gutenberg University with a thesis on portfolio management. Reichling has held the chair for finance and banking at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg since 1999. He has been dean for international affairs since 2017. In addition, he is the representative of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Magdeburg for the study program in Financial Economics, director of the Research Center for Savings Bank Development (FZSE) in Magdeburg , program representative of the German MBA Moscow and research director of the German-Russian Center for Economics (DRZW).

Reichling held visiting professorships at the Universities of Ulm , Innsbruck , Bozen and Taiyuan ( China ), held guest lectures at universities in Warsaw and Moscow and leads the cooperation between the University of Magdeburg and the National Bureau of Statistics in China. In 2007 he was also a board member of the housing cooperative "Otto-von-Guericke" eG, Magdeburg.

Reichling's research interests are risk management, financial markets and the assessment of investment strategies.
