Werner Peter Reistenhofer (born October 3, 1938 in Munich ; † July 29, 2001 in Graz ) was an Austrian actor and hotelier .

Life

He was the son of the artist Adolf Ziegler , who was President of the Reich Chamber of Fine Arts during the National Socialist era and Adolf Hitler's favorite painter at the time .

Reistenhofer first attended the hotel management school in Gleichenberg , where he was trained as a hotel manager . After graduating, he worked the following year as a steward on a luxury steamer and then attended an acting school in Munich. After this time he sang several times with Udo Jürgens in what was then Cafe Lido on Lake Wörthersee . This bar belonged to his stepfather Hugo Reistenhofer.

From 1964 he was engaged at the Schauspielhaus Graz , from 1978 he was a permanent ensemble member of the Löwinger stage . At the Schauspielhaus Graz as well as at the Löwinger stage he was cast for leading roles, such as in William Shakespeare's Othello , 1982 in "The False Cat" or 1986 in "Liebe, Krach und Sonnenschein", and was very popular with the audience. After his acting career he took over the "Hotel Münchnerhof", formerly "Hotel 3 Hacken", from his stepfather in Graz.

Reistenhofer was married to the management secretary Sylvia Reistenhofer. This marriage comes from their son Marcus Reistenhofer (* 1982).
