Peter Rietbergen

Peter Rietbergen (* 1950 in Bemmel ) is a Dutch historian and writer .

Life

Rietbergen studied at the Radboud University Nijmegen and the Sorbonne , Paris , received his doctorate from the Radboud University and was later Deputy Director of the Institute of the Netherlands in Rome . Since 1992 he has held the chair for the history of relations between Europe and the non-European world at Radboud University. Since 2001 Rietbergen has also been a full professor of cultural history . At TANAP (Towards A New Age of Partnership) he is responsible, among other things, for publications from Thai studies .

Under the pseudonym Nicolaas Berg wrote Rietbergen the historical narrative Dood op Deshma (Amsterdam 2001), in Japan the 17th century is located.
