Peter Soland (born December 4, 1947 ) was a football player in the GDR . For 1. FC Union Berlin , he played in the top division of the GDR football association , the Oberliga .

Athletic career

At the age of nine, Soland was accepted into the children's team of the company sports community (BSG) Motor Fürstenwalde . In 1964 he moved to SC Frankfurt , where he last played in the third-class district league Frankfurt . When the football section of the sports club was dissolved in late 1965, Soland returned to Fürstenwalde and played there with TSG Fürstenwalde, also in the Frankfurt district league. For the 1967/68 season Soland moved to the second-rate GDR league club BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt . After only eleven match days he was drafted into the military and assigned to the Vorwärts Neubrandenburg army sports community , where he could continue to play football in the GDR league. 1968 Soland was delegated to the top club of the army sports association, FC Vorwärts Berlin . There he was used until 1970 in the 2nd team, with which he played first in the district league, after the rise in 1969 in the GDR league.

After his discharge from the army in September 1970, Soland joined the first division club 1. FC Union Berlin. He was accepted into the league squad and played his first league game on October 10, 1970. In the game of the 8th match day of the 1970/71 season 1. FC Magdeburg - Union Berlin (2: 3) he was substituted on in the 78th minute and scored his first goal for Union after three minutes to make it 2: 2. It remained the only goal of his league career, and in the further course of the season he did not get beyond the status of a substitute player. After he was only used three times in the first team in the 1971/72 season, membership of 1. FC Union was ended at the end of the season.

Soland returned again to Fürstenwalde and played from the 1972/73 season for SG Dynamo Fürstenwalde in the GDR league. From 1975 to 1977 he worked there as a player-coach. In the 1977/78 season Soland was a player in the GDR league promoted BSG Bergmann-Borsig Berlin . As a recreational soccer player, Soland ended his soccer career at Sparta Berlin .
