Peter Stahrenberg

Peter Stahrenberg (born August 9, 1939 in Bremen ; † April 9, 2020 in Braunschweig ) was a German architect .

Life

Stahrenberg graduated from the Technical University of Braunschweig with a degree in architecture in 1966 . Together with Hans-Joachim Pysall and Uwe Jensen, Stahrenberg founded the architectural office Pysall, Jensen, Stahrenberg & Partner in 1971 (from 1983: architectural offices Pysall, Stahrenberg & Partner) with locations in Braunschweig, Berlin and Hamburg. The team created numerous educational and administrative buildings. With their spatial implementation of contemporary educational concepts, the architects shaped the Federal Republican educational expansion of the 1960s and 1970s and made a name for themselves here. Their work is considered to be outstanding buildings of high design quality.

From 1991 to 2003 Stahrenberg was President of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects . During his tenure, the Laveshaus was purchased as the seat of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects. In 1999 Stahrenberg initiated the Laves Foundation to promote young professionals. The Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects appointed Stahrenberg as its honorary president .
