Peter Stoltzenberg

Peter Stoltzenberg (born June 16, 1932 in Berlin ) is a German dramaturge , director and artistic director .

Life

Stoltzenberg was managing director of the Düsseldorfer Kammerspiele from 1959 to 1960, worked as chief dramaturge and director at the Nationaltheater Mannheim from 1960 to 1966 and was deputy director, chief dramaturge and director of the Freie Volksbühne Berlin from 1966 to 1968 . From 1968 to 1973 Stoltzenberg was the artistic director of the Theater der Stadt Heidelberg and from there immediately switched to the Bremen theater as general director . From 1978 to 1995 Stoltzenberg again took over the management of the Heidelberg Theater, where he co-founded the Heidelberger Stückemarkt to promote young German-speaking authors in 1985 .

After reunification , Stoltzenberg was appointed a member of the government commission for the financing of the cultural institutions of the former GDR from 1989 to 1990 due to his professional experience in the theater sector , where he acted as a consultant. He is a member of the Academy of Arts in Berlin.

Teaching activities

Stoltzenberg was appointed professor by the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1992 and taught as a lecturer at Heidelberg University . Since 1997 he has been visiting professor at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .

Awards

Stoltzenberg has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class , since 2003 . In addition, he received the prize of the German Music Council for promoting young talent in the field of music theater, won 1st prize at the European Youth Theater Festival and was named Chevalier des Arts et Lettres .
