Peter Tettinger

Peter J. Tettinger (born March 1, 1947 in Cologne ; † September 23, 2005 ) was a German lawyer , professor at the universities in Bochum and Cologne and judge at the constitutional court for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Peter Josef Tettinger was born in Cologne in 1947 and studied law at the University of Cologne. His first state examination in law followed in 1970 . During his research staff at Klaus Stern 1970-1979 he was with the theme Ingerenz problems of state economic management at the local level doctorate and made 1979 his second state exam. In 1979 he completed his habilitation with a thesis on the application of law and judicial control in commercial administrative law . In 1980 he held the chair for public law with a focus on general administrative law , economic constitution and economic administrative law at the Ruhr University in Bochum. From 1988 to 1998 he was director of the Institute for Mining and Energy Law at the University of Bochum. In 1998 Tettinger moved to the University of Cologne and became director of the Institute for Public Law and Administration .

Since 1995 Tettinger has been a deputy member of the Constitutional Court for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia based in Münster; full member since 2000. In 2004 he became a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences (class for humanities).
