Peter Ustorf

Peter Ustorf (born April 6, 1951 in Hamburg ) is a former German ice hockey player and coach.

Career

Peter Ustorf started his career as a player-coach at RSC Bremerhaven . From 1978 to 1980 he was the coach of the Schwenninger ERC from the Oberliga to the 1st Bundesliga after coaching VfL Bad Nauheim in the 1981/82 season.He returned to Schwenninger ERC after 4 months and stayed there until 1984. In the 1984/85 season he coached HC Ambrì-Piotta in Switzerland, at the beginning of the 1986/87 season the SC Riessersee and from 1987/88 to 1988/89 the EHC Essen-West . After his time in Essen, Ustorf was the coach of ESV Kaufbeuren in the early 1990s and saved the club from relegation from the Bundesliga , the top division at the time. He then coached the Berlin Capitals in the 1996/97 and 1997/98 seasons, and was also a manager for the team.

In the meantime he worked as a Europe scout for the Washington Capitals from the NHL . At the beginning of 2005 he returned to his hometown Kaufbeuren, where he also learned the sport of skating, as coach of the 2nd Bundesliga team of ESV Kaufbeuren . He saved the ESVK from relegation. In the following season, despite tight financial resources, they almost reached the play-offs. The contract was terminated at the end of November 2006 due to unsuccessfulness. From December 2006 to October 2007 he trained again for the Schwenninger ERC, which played in the 2nd Bundesliga.

As an ice hockey player he worked for the RSC Bremerhaven and the ESV Kaufbeuren. His son Stefan Ustorf was also a hockey player.
