Peter Walde

Peter Ingo Walde (* 1945 in Graefenroda ) is a German politician and former state chairman of the right-wing extremist NPD in Saxony-Anhalt (2011 to 2017).

Political career and life

Walde, who came from Graefenroda, was a member of the SED during the GDR era and studied Marxism-Leninism . From 2000 to 2006 he was state chairman of the party The Republicans in Saxony-Anhalt. During this time he still rejected the NPD.

At the beginning of 2007, Walde joined the NPD and was elected state chairman in Saxony-Anhalt in 2011. David Gegich attributes Walde to the "national conservative wing in the NPD". In the 2013 federal election , Peter Walde took first place on the NPD state list in Saxony-Anhalt. At the beginning of 2015 he also took part in demonstrations by a Pegida offshoot in Magdeburg and appeared there as a speaker.

In November 2017, Walde was replaced as chairman by Steffen Thiel .

Walde lives in Schneidlingen in the municipality of Hecklingen , in the meantime ran a restaurant and represents the NPD in the city council of Hecklingen and in the district council of the Salzlandkreis . For the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2016 , Walde was chosen as the top candidate of the NPD.
