Peter Winkelnkemper (basketball coach)

Peter "Pit" Winkelnkemper (* 1945 in Bergheim ; † February 25,  2016 ) was a German university teacher and basketball coach .

Life

After graduating from high school in Bergheim in 1966 , Winkelnkemper studied at the German Sport University in Cologne , graduated in 1973 and from 1974 worked as a teacher at the Institute for Sports Games at the Sport University in the field of basketball. He was by the end of 2008, when he resigned for health reasons from the service, working at the Sport University and worked in this time mostly in collaboration with Gerhard Schmidt among others on research projects with, including "Selected analyzes of technical and tactical aspects in the top Basketball" (1992 to 1994), "Analyzes of defense and attack tactics in top European basketball" (1994 to 1996), "Investigation of running and jumping loads in top basketball" (2000 to 2002), "Competition analyzes of the European basketball championships" (2003/04 ) and other.

Winkelnkemper, who had the A-trainer license of the German Basketball Association , was a coach in the 2nd basketball league at the end of the 1980s and in the 1980s at BSC Saturn Cologne in the women's basketball league . He trained other teams, including from 1991 at the DJK Bad Münstereifel, where he worked as a trainer and consultant for more than 15 years. He was also a basketball referee and referee instructor.
