Peter Zanter (born November 11, 1965 ) is a former German soccer player .
career
From 1985 to 1988 Peter Zanter played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Bundesliga . On August 17, 1985, he made his debut in the 2-0 win against 1. FC Saarbrücken in the Bundesliga. He was used in 40 games for Leverkusen. In 1988 he moved to Hannover 96 . Zanter played for the Reds for the first time in the Bundesliga on August 20, 1988. In the 1988/89 season he played 21 games for Hanover. After a year he moved to VfL Bochum after relegation from "96" , for which he played 29 games. In the Bundesliga, Zanter, who was used as a defender, made a total of 90 Bundesliga games without scoring. Due to an Achilles tendon operation , he had to end his Bundesliga career in 1992. He then played in the major league for SV Straelen and Hasper SV until 1994 until he gave up playing football for health reasons.
In his career, the defender has played six DFB-Pokal games , plus eight appearances in the European Cup . In 1987, Zanter took part in the military world championship in Italy with the Bundeswehr national team and came second.
Zanter later worked as an assistant coach at KFC Uerdingen , Fortuna Cologne , Eintracht Braunschweig, with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga under Peter Vollmann , as well as for Prussia Münster and Holstein Kiel . In 2012 Zanter worked as a scout for a player consulting company.
