Peter von Blanckensee (Major General)

Peter Karl Eugen Friedrich von Blanckensee (born February 22, 1858 in Rieben , Neustadt district in West Prussia , † November 11, 1914 in Lötzen ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

He came from the Neumark noble family von Blanckensee . His father was the Prussian Premier Lieutenant Eugen von Blanckensee, who owned the Rieben manor in the Neustadt district in West Prussia, where Peter was born in 1858.

Blanckensee started a military career in the Prussian Army and was u. a. From February 19, 1910 to March 4, 1913 commander of the grenadier regiment "King Friedrich Wilhelm II." (1st Silesian) No. 10 . Subsequently, he was appointed commander of Glogau , conferring the character of major general . During the First World War he led the 98th Reserve Infantry Brigade. As a result of the war wound received in Marishof in East Prussia on October 28, 1914, he died the following month.

His eldest son Eugen died in 1915.
