Peter von Blankenfelde
Peter von Blankenfelde (* around 1335 ; † after 1396 ) was Berlin's mayor .
He comes from the Blankenfelde patrician family in Berlin , who provided a total of seven Berlin mayors. His great-grandfather Johannes I. von Blankenfelde was Berlin mayor, and his son Paul von Blankenfelde followed in his footsteps. He himself held the highest state office in the years 1365/1366, 1369/1370, 1371/1372, 1373/1374, 1375/1376 and 1395/1396 in the obligatory annual change.
The Blankenfelde family owned properties in Wartenberg , Rotberg (formerly: Rotzis), Groß Ziethen , Birkholz near Bernau and Malchow and received lease and interest income from them. He also had a house in Berlin next to the Marienkirche and another at Spandauer Strasse 49.
During Blankenfelde's tenure, the twin cities were hit twice by fire disasters . In 1376 there was a great fire in Cölln , and the second conflagration in the summer of 1380 almost completely destroyed Berlin. Thousands of people were killed.
