Petites Murailles

The Petites Murailles ( French for 'small walls', 3630  m slm ) are a rocky ridge in the Italian part of the Valais Alps . They are the southern continuation of the Grandes Murailles ( 3906  m slm ) and with them form a side ridge that branches off at the Dent d'Hérens ( 4171  m above sea level ) to the south from the main Alpine ridge and the Valpelline to the west from the Valtournanche with the basin separates from Breuil-Cervinia in the east. The Col Budden ( 3562  m slm ) separates Grandes and Petites Murailles. Seen from the east, the Murailles give the impression of an almost closed rock face.

The highest point of the Petites Murailles is the Punta Budden with a height of 3630 meters. It rises as the first peak of the chain directly south of the Col Budden. Further south, the Tour de Creton ( 3579  m slm ) rises up in the ridge, followed by the Mont Blanc du Creton ( 3409  m slm ), which is the southern end of the chain.
