Petr Kocman (born August 1, 1970 in Brno , † December 9, 2009 in Kývalka ) was a Czech football player . The midfielder played 169 first division games for FC Brno between 1992 and 2000, in which he scored seven goals.

Club career

Kocman began his professional career in 1992 at FC Boby Brno. In the last season the Czechs and Slovaks played together, he played 24 first division games without scoring a goal. In the next few years, Kocman, who began as a striker and later played in right midfield, was mostly part of the Red-Whites' regular line-up. He scored his first goal in the Czech first division on September 10, 1993 in the 2-1 victory of his team over Spartak Hradec Králové .

In 1996, Kocman's career was briefly about to end when he contracted a liver infection. However, the midfielder was able to continue his career and continued to play for his home club until the 1999/00 season. For Brno, Kocman completed a total of 169 league games and scored seven times in the opposing goal.

After the end of his professional career, he played four years for FC Slovan Rosice and not far from Stuttgart in a lower league in Germany. He then worked for FC Brno as a manager in the youth department.

National team

Kocman played four games for the Czechoslovak U-15 team in 1985 and 1986.

death

Kocman was killed on December 9, 2009 at around 4:45 am on the D1 motorway between Prague and Brno near Kývalka when he was struck by a truck while trying to catch a spare tire that had rolled onto the road.

Others

Both Kocman's father and Kocman's uncle played football for city rivals Spartak KPS Brno in the 1960s, and in the first Czechoslovak league in the 1961/62 season.
