Petra Crone (born July 3, 1950 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German politician ( SPD ) from Kierspe , North Rhine-Westphalia . She was a member of the German Bundestag from 2009 to 2017 .

Life and work

Crone attended the Pestalozzi School in Lüdenscheid and the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium there . After finishing secondary school , she trained as a gymnastics teacher . In 1980 she made up her Abitur and then studied social sciences at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal .

Crone is married and has three daughters.

Political party

Crone has been a member of the SPD since 1988. She was chairwoman of the working group of social democratic women Halver / Kierspe and chairwoman of the local association Kierspe. She is the 2nd deputy chairwoman of the SPD sub-district Märkischer Kreis and a member of the state party council in Düsseldorf . On November 15, 2013 she was elected to the party executive committee of the SPD .

Public offices

From 1994 to 2014 Crone was a member of the city ​​council in Kierspe, from 1999 to 2007 as chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group.

In the 2009 Bundestag election , Crone ran as a direct candidate in the Bundestag constituency of Olpe - Märkischer Kreis I and lost 28.3 percent of the first votes. She moved into the Bundestag via the 12th place on the SPD state list.

In the federal elections in 2013, Crone moved into the Bundestag via 4th place on the state list. She was a full member of the Family, Seniors, Women and Youth Committee and the Food and Agriculture Committee . She acted as deputy spokesperson for the working group on families, seniors, women and youth of the SPD parliamentary group. From May 21, 2014, she was the SPD parliamentary group's demographic policy spokesperson. As a reporter for the SPD parliamentary group on care for the elderly, she criticized the levying of school fees in private geriatric care schools and advocated generalist training in the care professions.
