Petra Lux

Petra Lux (* 1956 in Hermsdorf ) is a German civil rights activist , journalist , novelist , Taichi and Qigong teacher.

Life

Petra Lux grew up in a Catholic family and studied journalism from 1976 to 1980 at KMU Leipzig . As a journalist, she saw no opportunity in the GDR to implement her ideals, so she was the youth club manager of the "Jörgen Schmidtchen" in Leipzig- Schönefeld for young people, organized events with non-conformist artists like Franz Fühmann and Wolfgang Hilbig and songwriters with critical texts the first women's center in a state house of culture in the GDR and, also as the first cultural institution in the country, organized dance evenings for same-sex couples. She was then released without notice in 1983.

In their living rooms and the workshop of her husband then discussion groups and illegal concerts with artists took place, which is critical with the SED - dictatorship apart sat among others with Peter glasses , Radjo Monk , Juergen B. In 1990/91 she worked as a journalist for women's issues at the DAZ (“The Other Newspaper”) and then again as a freelance writer for print and radio media as well as for the Leipzig documentary and short film festival .

Shortly before the fall of the Wall, she came into contact with Asian types of movement and therapy, learned family constellations from Bert Hellinger and trained as a Taichi teacher. Since 1995 she has given her own courses in Taichi, Qigong, Reiki , family constellations and lectures on runes in her YINYANG center in Leipzig.
