Petra Schmitz

Petra Schmitz (born February 22, 1972 in Sankt Vith ) is a Belgian politician ( ProDG ) and has been a member of the parliament of the German-speaking community since 2008 .

Life

She attended the Episcopal School St. Vith until 1990 and passed her Abitur there. From 1990 to 1993 Petra Schmitz studied at the DG University to become a primary school teacher. In the 1993/1994 winter semester, she studied at RWTH Aachen University with a major in German studies with a minor in politics and philosophy . From 1995 to 2011 she was a primary school teacher. In 2012 she became head of the department at the Center for Special Education. There she is responsible for the primary department of the ZFP Eupen and she coordinates the integration in the north of the DG. In her free time, she has been an actress and director in the Kettenis theater group for many years. She has a daughter.

She was a founding member of ProDG and has been a member of the board since 2008. Since 2009 she has been a member of the parliament of the German-speaking Community.
