Location of Dibella in Niger

Dibella is a Sahara - Oasis in Niger .

Dibella is located in the southern part of the Great Sand Desert of Bilma . The oasis is part of the municipality of N'Gourti in the Diffa region . It is recorded on many atlases and maps. The extremely difficult slope Bilma - Zoo Baba - Dibella - Agadem - N'Gourti - N'Guigmi - Diffa runs here .

The oasis is located in the middle of an archipelago of small rock islands jutting out of the sand. To the north and northwest of their wells rises the hill Yerirom made of chalk - sandstone . On the east side of the hill, prehistoric rock art depicting people and animals was discovered. There is a date palm grove in Dibella . The date palms are harvested by nomads at harvest time .

In 1866 the German Africa explorer Gerhard Rohlfs visited the oasis.
