Petra Winter (journalist)

Petra Winter (born June 29, 1975 ) is a German political scientist and journalist. She was editor-in-chief of the German edition of Cosmopolitan and deputy editor-in-chief of the Bild newspaper. She has been the editor of Madame magazine since 2014 .

Winter studied political science at the University of Hamburg and in the USA, graduating with a degree in political science. She completed her journalistic training from 2000 at the Axel Springer School of Journalism and as a trainee at the tabloid Bild am Sonntag . In Munich she then worked as an editor for the Bild newspaper. She worked for various objects of the Condé Nast publishing house and in 2003/2004 headed a development department for a women's magazine at Heinrich Bauer Verlag .

In 2005 she became editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan and at the same time ran Celebrity magazine from 2007 until it was closed in 2008 . In 2011 she was replaced as editor-in-chief by Carolin Schuhler , who had been her deputy until then.

In 2012 she returned to Springer and became deputy editor-in-chief of Bild under Kai Diekmann . There she took on cross-departmental tasks. Work at Springer ended that same year.

In 2013 she was the creative director at the clothing company s. Oliver and starred in the television show Fashion Hero . Since January 2014 she has succeeded Katrin Riebartsch as editor-in-chief of the magazine Madame . She is also responsible for the subsidiary editions Madame Living , Madame Collections and Madame Beauty .
