Petrax Studio

The Petrax Studio is a Finnish music studio in the southern Finnish municipality of Hollola , around 15 km west of Lahti . The studio, which specializes in recording , is run by Petri and Tiina Rappula. The main clientele consists of metal bands.
history
The studio is located in an old farm that was founded by Finland-Swedes in 1577 and is still family-owned today.
As an easy way to record a demo, Petri Rappula set up a small home studio in 1993 on his family's farm. He decided to continue the studio and set up a control room in 1995 , while an old warehouse was converted into a recording room. The equipment at that time consisted of three ADATs and a Soundscape hard disk recorder .
In 1998 the studio was completely rebuilt and renovated. A new 60 m² control room was built as a separate auxiliary building and the acoustic properties of the recording rooms were improved with soundproofing . There were also three bedrooms for up to 10-12 people, a sauna , sanitary facilities , a lounge and a kitchen . In recent years, the recording equipment has been constantly renewed and improved.

Since the expansion measures in 1998, the studio with everything that goes with it has a total area of around 520 m². The core is the 60 m² control room together with the three recording rooms of 120 m², 24 m² and 10 m². The studio can also be booked with accommodation and meals up to full board .

Many greats of the Finnish metal scene have already recorded albums at Petrax Studios. The studio was also hired to record works of other musical genres. The following table shows a selection of the most important albums that were recorded in the Petrax Studios.
