The Palatinate Keschdeweg (Palatine Chestnut Trail ) is a themed hiking trail in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is named after the sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa), which was already settled in this area in Roman times, in Palatine keschde for the tree and its fruit, the tasty chestnuts .
The main path leads from the Hauenstein shoe museum over 50 km to Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . The route runs through Annweiler , Gleisweiler with its park, Burrweiler with the St. Anna Chapel , the Villa Ludwigshöhe , the Kropsburg , St. Martin and the Hambach Castle .
In addition, 4 shorter branch lines are offered.
- A 15 km long route from Hauenstein via Lug and Völkersweiler to Annweiler
- A 19 km long route from Annweiler via the Madenburg to St. Johann
- A 15 km long route from St. Johann via Ramberg and Rhodt to Edenkoben .
- An 8 km long route from Burrweiler via Weyher to Edenkoben.
