The Pfaffenberg ( 672 m above sea level ) is a wooded granite mountain northwest of the village of Vielitz , a district of the city of Selb in the Fichtel Mountains (northeast Bavaria). The mountain is immediately west of the B 15 between Selb and Schönwald and the A 93 Regensburg-Hof.
The field name "Pfaffenholz am Pernstein" appears in 1499 in the land register of the six offices and indicates a former settlement. The main hiking trail north of the Fichtelgebirgsverein runs on the northern slope of the mountain .
Small monument
At the eastern foot of the mountain, directly on the B 15, there is a stone cross made of granite, which, however, has been moved several times due to road construction work. There are several explanations for the origin of the stone cross.
