Pfaffenbronn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pfaffenbronn is a farming village that belongs to the municipality of Lembach in the Bas-Rhin department ( Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace )). From this place it is to the east, on the D65 in the direction of Weißenburg . It is divided into new and old Pfaffenbronn.

Buildings

It mainly consists of a few farms, but the 100-house holiday home area Les Châtaigniers (the chestnuts) was built in the 1970s . One of the few tourist attractions is the Flammkuchenhaus Muller, to which two to three coaches sometimes go daily. In addition, by appointment, you can visit an oil mill (moulin à l'huile) , which is located in Alt-Pfaffenbronn.

Contrary to what the name suggests, there is no church in this village, and no public buildings either. To school every morning ride school buses to Lembach or White Castle.

Surroundings

Between Lembach and Pfaffenbronn (about 5 kilometers away from each other) is the Four à Chaux (in German: "Kalkofen"), which was created for the war and which soldiers were once supposed to live in and guard in a mountain. It is on the Maginot Line , a military area. Directly behind Pfaffenbronn is the Langenberg, on which many hiking trails lead. From above (Soultzerkopf) you can even see the tower of the Strasbourg Cathedral (weather permitting).

The next larger towns are Lembach and Weißenburg, Soultz-sous-Forêts and Haguenau .
