The rectory in Obervolkach

The rectory (address Dr.-Gengler-Straße 14 , formerly house number 25) is a listed building in Obervolkach in Lower Franconia .

history

The still existing rectory was built after the Thirty Years War . An inscription in the courtyard portal refers to the year 1699. The pastors of Obervolkach lived in the building for a long time; today the building is rented to private individuals. During a renovation in 1980 and 1981 by the St. Nikolaus Church Foundation, Volkach architect Hans-Peter Röschert renovated the entire property.

description

The large property is a two-storey hipped roof building . The windows are drilled . The rectory has three window axes on the street side and five on the long side. A modern house figure in a niche shows the Queen of Heaven facing the street . The courtyard wall around the former rectory has been partially preserved. In the barn with half-timbered the parish library and an archive were temporarily housed.
