The Roman Catholic parish church of Ötting in the hamlet of Ötting, part of the market town of Oberdrauburg , is consecrated to St. George . It was mentioned for the first time in 1349 as the Lord of Flaschberg's own church . After the lords of the castle of Flaschberg had accepted the Protestant faith, the church was given a preacher . In 1594 this was expelled in the course of the Counter Reformation and a Roman Catholic parish was set up again around 1600.

Building description

The Gothic building, which has been modified several times, consists of a nave with high segmented arched windows and a low, recessed choir with three-eighth end, which is supported by stepped buttresses . The mighty, Gothic tower on the south side of the choir with slits in the wall and ogival sound windows is crowned by a pointed gable helmet. One of the four church bells was cast by Josef Grassmayr in 1686. In the corner between the nave and the tower there is a small sacristy . Three original lancet windows have been preserved in the choir . The church is entered from the south through an arched portal. The roofing consists of wooden shingles.

After the fire of 1945, a new flat ceiling and a new wooden gallery were installed in the three-bay nave. A pointed arched chamfered triumphal arch connects the nave with the choir. Like the sacristy, the one-bay choir with three-eighths is vaulted with cross ribs .

The wall paintings were uncovered in 1945 and 1977 to 1979. On the left triumphal arch wall is a pantocrator from 1400, a coronation of the Virgin Mary and a fragment of an Annunciation from the third quarter of the 15th century. The depiction of the martyrdom of St. Catherine and the risen Christ on the right triumphal arch wall are partially covered by the side altar. The adoration of the kings in the rocky landscape on the north wall of the nave was also created around 1400 . The Coronation of the Virgin with three different crowns (crown of thorns, Imperial Crown and Tiara ) on the south wall of the choir was the 17th century in the first quarter in secco painted the apostles underneath Andreas and Matthew fresco technique.
