history

A parish church was consecrated in 1135 and after being destroyed it was consecrated again in 1283. The construction of the collegiate church began in 1508 and altars were consecrated in 1515. After the tower collapsed in 1621, a semicircular west end was added to the central nave. The new tower was built between 1622 and 1630. The interior of the church was redesigned in Baroque style from 1697 to 1699, with the south aisle in the basement walled up. From 1946 to 1948 an interior restoration was carried out.

architecture

The baroque Gothic staggered church has a west tower. The originally three-aisled four-bay nave has a south aisle, walled up in the basement in 1697, which is open to an oratorio passage on the upper floor. The central aisle and north aisle are vaulted using the Gothic vaults. The four-bay choir, raised by two steps across the width of the central nave, has a three-eighth end.

Furnishing

The extraordinarily richly furnished high altar with excellent statues occupying the entire end of the choir was built in 1698. The altar sheet was painted by the painter Johann Kaspar Sing . The six side altars from 1699 without any actual structure show pictures by the painter Johann Philipp Ruckerbauer from Sarleinsbach in richly decorated acanthus frames .
