The Roman Catholic parish church Feldkirch-Levis is located in the Levis district of the municipality of Feldkirch in the Feldkirch district in Vorarlberg . It is consecrated to St. Mary Queen of Peace and belongs to the Feldkirch deanery in the Feldkirch diocese . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

The church was built between 1962 and 1966 according to plans by Willi Ramersdorfer and German Meusburger and consecrated in 1966.

The church is a hall building with a flat roof and a free-standing church tower .

Church interior

The church consists of a hall with a flat ceiling. The stained glass is by Martin Häusle from 1962 to 1965. On the back wall of the altar is a picture of Our Lady by Martin Häusle from 1964. On the left side wall are the “ Annunciation of the Lord ”, the “ Adoration of the Magi ” and “Christ as the carpenter's son ”,“ the calling of the disciples ”, the“ wedding at Cana ”,“ Christ as teacher ”, the“ fish multiplication ”, the“ awakening of the young man of Naim ”,“ Christ walks on the water ”, the“ transfiguration on Mount Tabor ”, the“ Last Supper ”and the“ Washing of the feet ”. On the left side of the entrance wall there is an angel and subsequently the “ Apocalyptic Rider ” as well as saints and important priests from Vorarlberg: Saint Gebhard , Saint Fidelis , Saint Nicholas von der Flüe , Carl Lampert , Abbot Pfanner and Bishop Rudigier shown. On the right side of the entrance wall, Moses is depicted with scenes from the Old Testament. All wall paintings are by Martin Häusle from the years 1964 to 1965. In the baptistery there are concrete glass windows with the tree of life by Norbert Grebmer .

Furnishing

The ambo, the font and the tabernacle were made by Herbert Albrecht in 1966. The crucifix was created by Peter Dimml . The Way of the Cross is from the hand of B. Wagner .

Funeral hall

In the north-west of the church is the mortuary. It was built in 1956 and has glass windows by Martin Häusle from 1962. They depict Adam and Eve , a Pietà and the resurrection.
