Levis is a district of the city of Feldkirch in Vorarlberg . The place lies between the city center of Feldkirch, the district Altenstadt , the Ardetzenberg and the Amberg.

The district is known for its numerous villas, which were built due to the construction of a railway line through Feldkirch. In terms of the settlement structure of this district, the ribbon-like facility along the main traffic artery (Bahnhofsstraße, Reichsstraße) is characteristic.

The length of Levis is limited towards the city center of Feldkirch by the Capuchin monastery and Feldegggasse and north towards Altenstadt in the area of Raiffeisenstraße.

Villa mother

Villa mother

This first significant early historical villa complex in Vorarlberg was built in 1855–1866 by the building inspector Karl Spindler in Reichsstraße (No. 170) for the manufacturer Andreas Mutter .

The facade of this brick villa looks like the result of a well thought-out floor plan and the simple, cubic structure reveals the organization of its interior structure in its balanced proportionality.
