history

In 1381 a church was named. In 1692 a new church was built. The tower was built between 1754 and 1757 with a master from Graz. Restorations were in 1878/1879, 1927, 1972 inside and 1979 outside.

architecture

The three-axis west facade with a narrow parapet has a facade tower with a richly structured helmet. Side niches carry new statues. The west portal gives the year 1693. Outside on the north wall there is an important Romanesque former tympanum relief of two lions fighting with each other, in a braided ornament frame, from the second quarter of the 13th century. Outside on the south wall is a stone painful Maria from the 18th century.

A one-and-a-half-bay choir with a groin vault and galleries and a semicircle adjoins the four-bay spacious nave with wall pillars and a groin vault on pressed belts. The west gallery protrudes.

To the south of the parish church is a baroque chapel that was changed in the 19th century.

Furnishing

The baroque high altar transferred here from the castle chapel around 1740 shows and carries equipment from the parish church, such as the altarpiece St. Michael and the two angels from the middle of the 18th century. There are other baroque images: Last Supper from the second half of the 17th century, St. Anthony, repentant Peter, from the first half of the 18th century, the former Pietà altarpiece of the altar of the palace chapel around 1740, St. Isidor and Notburga from the 18th century, Anna Maria teaching from the 19th century.
